Cubans love their 50's era vehicles particularly Buicks however because of trade embargoes trying to keep these old beasts of beauty going has not been easy.
But now Cubans will soon be able to get parts and new 50's era Buicks which GM plans to begin making as soon as an assembly plant can be re-tooled. The cars will come with fuel-efficent engines, weigh less with mordern era material but look, smell and drive like Buicks of an era long gone by.
Buick will sponsor vintage TV shows from the 50's which will be available on a special TV Land SAT channel exclusively for Cuba. Here's a preview of Buick sponsoring the old Honeymooners show with Jackie Gleason. And just for the Cuban market the slogan will be "NOW THAT'S A BUICK !".
